Overview

MICHAELA LIGMAN is a Senior Research Analyst based in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Ms. Ligman applies her background in Mathematics and Economics to factual research and numerical analysis, including damages calculations and loss causation analysis.

Her research focuses on securities class action litigation, tracking the developments of new investigations and cases for attorney teams. She has also been an integral member of several trial teams and her work contributed to the firm’s success in notable cases including: Hoffman v. City of Los Angeles (LASC BC672326), a class action regarding the City’s wastewater fees which concluded with the a settlement fund of $57.5 million; and Quackenbush v. American Honda Motor Co. Inc., (N.D. Cal. 3:20-cv-05599), an action regarding a valve timing defect which resulted in a jury verdict of $1.4 million to a class of Illinois vehicle owners.  

Prior to joining Glancy Prongay & Murray, Ms. Ligman worked at a mortgage banking firm where she worked directly with executive management to develop new quality assurance and record management systems. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA, majoring in Mathematics and Economics.
